A sample of illustrations, some created for clients and others for personal development.  The process always starts as traditional hand drawings in my sketchbook, then developed through a process of redrawing and layering combinations of both traditional and digital rendering. Experimenting with mixed-media allows me to discover ways to take the work in new directions.
" Mary's sense of colour, draftsmanship and whimsy drew me to her work. As a writer hiring an illustrator for the first time, however, I wasn't sure where to go from there. Mary guided me gently through the process—listening carefully to what I envisioned, accommodating any changes, making inspired suggestions—and together we developed just the look and feeling I was after. I look forward to our next project, as from first draft to printer's proof, I feel I'm in excellent artistic hands. "
